My name is Dominique Jones, and I was born and raised in South Florida. At just 19 years old, I became a mother for the first time. Even before then, I had a natural love for children and enjoyed babysitting whenever I could. Still, nothing compares to the experience of raising your own child—especially as a young, single parent.

Becoming a teen mother revealed fears and insecurities I never knew I had. I wanted to be the best mother possible, but I didn’t always know where to begin. Teen parenting is far from easy; it comes with stress, uncertainty, and moments when giving up feels tempting. Through it all, I chose to stay positive and push forward, because my child was—and still is—my greatest motivation.

With my mother by my side, offering guidance, encouragement, and prayer, I was able to overcome many of the hardships that come with young motherhood. That support played a life-changing role in my journey.
